Coomassie Brilliant Blue (CBB) staining is one of the most widely adopted techniques for protein detection in polyacrylamide gels, particularly SDS-PAGE. The dye interacts primarily with basic amino acids such as arginine, lysine, and histidine, forming stable dye–protein complexes that appear as distinct blue protein bands against a clear gel background.
