GM quicker
Description
GM quicker is a kit for extracting DNA from grains such as corn and soybeans. This kit utilizes Boom Technology, which allows DNA to adsorb to silica in the presence of chaotropic ions, eliminating the need for toxic organic solvents such as phenol and chloroform. While DNA-based methods are widely used in genetically modified organism (GMO) testing, previous plant DNA extraction kits focused on leaves, making them less efficient for extracting DNA from grains such as corn and soybeans. By specializing this kit for grain extraction, highly purified DNA can be extracted in a short time of approximately 45 minutes. This kit is also designed to address extraction issues, such as cross-contamination during sample preparation. Furthermore, the spin column used in this kit maximizes column volume, and the embedded silica membrane ensures sufficient DNA adsorption capacity and high elution efficiency.
Features
– Highly purified DNA can be extracted from grains in approximately 45 minutes
– No toxic organic solvents such as phenol or chloroform are required for extraction.
・Kit design that takes into consideration the prevention of sample cross-contamination
・Extracted DNA can be used directly in PCR and restriction enzyme reactions
